Liz, Don, and myself ate lunch... yesterday at a certain restaurant in Boulder. We mentioned that we want to do a flash mob Sunday, weather permitting............ . My original idea was t based on the “Google Schmoozing” thread perhaps we should save that for next week.
I need your help and support to pull this off. We need to publicize this flash mob on Facebook and Twitter starting today. Capacity ....is.... is limited so we cannot ask everyone to show up all at once. Ross suggested that we stagger the flash mob between 3 and 6 P.M. So the details are as follows:

Boulders gets most snow in State!

It snowed all day yesterday and on into the night. Boulder got slammed with a heavy spring snow. North boulder has 18 inches of snow with two foot drifts.
Denver and Longmont did not see nearly the amount of snow. As usual Boulder was first in the state. We are not only the smartest, thinnest and happiest people in Colorado. We get the most snow too. Not to mention we have more medical marijuana growing operations than Mexico.
I spent the day out and about seeing customers. I like working in the snow because no one else does and it makes it easier to get stories. I have these new studded snow tires on my hybrid Ford Escape. It sticks like glue in the snow. Yesterday was a big twitter and blog day too.

It has happened again @Walrus Bar! Boulder police investigate!

Another dangerous bar fight. Is over serving by boulder Bar managers to blame?? Police investigate.
Boulder police are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying and locating a suspect in a second-degree assault that occurred at about 10:40 p.m. on Wednesday, March 17, inside The Walrus Saloon, 1911 11th St. A 24-year-old Boulder man was punched multiple times and left unconscious by an unknown male. According to witnesses, there was no explanation or obvious provocation for the assault.
The suspect is described as a light- to medium-skinned black male in his mid-20s, about 6 feet tall and 160 pounds. He was wearing a gray and black striped T-shirt and jeans. A witness was able to
complete a sketch, which is attached to this release.

On March 6 another fight at the Walrus left a guy hospitalized in serious condition.
According to Police "Both incidents include high levels of alcohol use." "The level of violence has increased in Boulder Bars recently" There have been very violent fights, 2 at the Walrus, one at Goose ( formerly the Sink) and one at Sundown." Boulder PD are stepping up their level of bar enforcement. Over serving by bars to intoxicated customers is suspected. Bars can lose their liquor license. The first step is to have the Police alcohol enforcement team warn the bars and give a talk to their staff. The next level is to send in a sting operation to catch bar tenders, managers and waitress's in the act of over serving. In the case of corporate run operations, senior executives may be indicted and charged criminally for knowingly allowing over serving.
Boulder Bars that serve 20somethings are notorious for over serving between 11:00pm and 1:30 am . Bar managers pay bonus's to staff who can get a college kid to max his credit card on drinks. Another ploy is for cute waitress's to bring shot trays around to tables. Bars can do $1000s of dollars per hour in the late night. Some waitress's will give quick lap dances to drunk guys to get them to leave $100 dollar tips. Any Bar staff who are forced to over serve are encouraged to call Crime Stoppers.
In addition to the suspect, investigators would like to speak to two other witnesses to the assault. Because the bar was crowded, the victim and his friends were sharing a table with two other men. At first, the victim’s friends assumed the suspect was with these customers, but the men indicated after the assault that they did not know him.
In addition to being unconscious for several minutes, the victim sustained a broken ankle.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact Detective Ruth Christopher at 303-441-3330 as soon as possible. Those who have information but wish to remain anonymous may contact the Northern Colorado Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or 1-800-444-3776. Tips can also be submitted via the Crime Stoppers Web site at www.crimeshurt.com. Those submitting tips through Crime Stoppers that lead to the arrest and filing of charges on a suspect(s) may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000 from Crime Stoppers.

Boulder declares Boulder Fiber Weekend

Boulder, Colo –The City of Boulder will declare March 18 - 21, 2010 as Boulder Fiber Weekend and will encourage people to “get out the vote” for the community’s effort to bring the Google Fiber for Communities project to Boulder. An official declaration will be presented at the beginning of the March 17 City Council meeting.
For Boulder Fiber Weekend, the City of Boulder and its community partners challenge everyone to vote online before midnight, March 21, for Boulder to be chosen for the Google project. Go to BoulderFiber.com and click on the Nominate button to vote for Boulder.
The Google project is a nationwide search for communities that want to host the development of a broadband network that could provide internet speeds more than 100 times faster than what most Americans have access to today. Google will choose one or more trial locations across the country to test these ultra-fast fiber-to-home connections. Google is looking for cities that not only meet certain minimal requirements but that also have a community willing to show its enthusiasm for the project.
“Google fiber will bring ultra high speed access to people in their homes and businesses, creating positive impacts on our community’s economic vitality,” said Director of Information Technology Don Ingle. “The more votes we get, the better the chance that we’ll be able to bring Google fiber to Boulder. We want to encourage all who live or work in Boulder to get out the vote by visiting www.boulderfiber.com and clicking “Nominate Boulder”. Every nomination is a vote, and every vote will count towards our application.”

First off we Boulders Internet Television Channel launched in 2005. So that means you can see us only at BoulderChannel1.com . Since Boulder is the most computer savvy small city in America, it makes sense to have an internet TV Channel. With a web based programming in digital format we are not constrained by broadcast or even cable. We have multiple TV channels in Boulder for Visitors, CU, Police, Best in Boulder, Music, Film, Food and restaurants, Travel, Homes, and community programming.
On top of that we at Channel One Networks built Internet TV Channels for every small , medium and large city in the world!.... called The World Channel 1 networks.!
