According to sources, the City of Boulder has reportedly struck a high note and on September 13, two bicycle parking corrals will be installed downtown: one in front of the Trident and the other in front of The Cup. One parking space will be removed at each location for each corral. Evidently, according to sources, there is a plethora of bicycles chained everywhere in that small area in front of both coffee houses and it becomes too congested for pedestrians and everyone. 
Boulder will take a hint from Portland, Oregon and San Francisco, of course, and build the first ever bicycle parking corrals here.
Is it the start of something bigger? Time will tell. Portland has more than 50 of these corrals and places them every 10 parking spaces.
Everyone knows bicycles are now a big part of Boulder, bigger than ever, and all age groups are riding bikes around town. What better idea than to allow numerous bikes to park in a safe area and decongest the sidewalks. Bicyclists around Boulder should applaud the city on this one.
